PRCUA # 162 – Wyandotte, was founded in 1902 by a group of men who wanted to work to preserve the Polish Heritage and Culture in Wyandotte, and develop an avenue to help the young families of the area educate their children and families of our Polish traditions. Society 162 is a fraternal member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America headquartered in Chicago, IL. PRCUA is the oldest and largest Polish American Fraternal established in 1873. Primarily a fraternal Life Insurance benefit company, annuity investments are also available.
To date PRCUA-Wyandotte has over 1800 members and maintains activities for its members such as, Youth & Adult Bowling Leagues, Polish Folk Dancing for children through the age of 18, Youth Gymnastics programs, Children’s and Seniors Christmas Parties, National Sports tournaments for Bowling, Basketball, Softball & Golf, Yearly celebrations for Paczki Day, Koledy Night. Just to name a few.
PRCUA-Wyandotte, annually hosts a variety of Fundraisers for the Scholarship fund. Proceeds from these events are awarded to Society 162 members attending college. Each member is allowed a scholarship twice. Once in their Freshman year, and again in their Junior year of college.
PRCUA is people-oriented. Members can participate in the activities of our Society which they join when they purchase insurance from PRCUA. Through these activities, and other cultural and sports programs, PRCUA actively encourages its members to be good Americans, good Poles, and good Catholics.
